This program is designed to recognize and reward cruisers who frequently sail with Princess, although you can unlock benefits after just one cruise. The program offers a wealth of added value through exclusive benefits and privileges that cruisers can take advantage of whether they are seasoned cruisers or first-time voyagers. You'll have to take 16 seven-night cruises to reach the Elite level, assuming you stay in standard cabins. If you stay in suites, you could reach Elite status in just eight sailings. However, in theory, you also could reach Elite status in just two sailings if they were among the longest sailings on the Princess schedule. However, starting with the second tier, Ruby, you'll need to monitor your progress in accumulating both cruise credits and cruise days.
While Princess’s loyalty program provides fewer benefits than some competitors, you don’t need as many cruises to reach the highest tier. Note that, as is often the case with cruise line loyalty programs, Princess customers do not have to requalify for status each year. Captain's Circle members keep their points at the end of each year and continue to accrue points indefinitely. Members of the Captain's Circle program can rise through its tiers to the Platinum and Elite level two different ways -- either by hitting milestones for "cruise credits" or for "cruise days." The Platinum tier is where you’ll start to earn meaningful rewards. After your fifth cruise or 50 cruise days, you ascend to Platinum status, unlocking a suite of benefits and discounts.
